Frequently Asked Questions

I want to purchase a Pressure Reducing valve, what information do I need to supply?

To ensure correct sizing, the best performance and most economical purchase cost the more information you supply Mack the better. As a minimum we need to know the line fluid, inlet pressure, outlet pressure, required flow rate and preferred connection types. Additional information such as inlet & outlet pipe sizes and minimum expected flow rate will improve the quality of our selection and product performance.

What size valves does Mack manufacture?

Mack manufactures a variety of valves in sizes from 3mm through to 600mm.

Mack regularly engineer modifications to standard valves or completely new designs to meet specialist applications.

Does Mack repair other manufacturers’ valves?

Yes, Mack is able to repair and refurbish valves from nearly any manufacturer or type. With our complete manufacturing facilities Mack are able to make spares to suit most valves and via our extensive network of contacts and suppliers we can also source a huge range of specific spares and kits to suit your valve.

Can Mack offer a test certificate for repaired valves?

Mack is able to offer test and set pressure certificates for all the valve repairs.

I’m looking for a Safety/Relief Valve what is the difference?

Both Valves do exactly the same thing, protect a vessel from over pressure rising. The principal difference is that a Relief Valve has a lock up top and once set it can’t be touched or tampered with. A Safety Valve has easing gear or a lever fitted so the Valve can be tested or lifted. With most safety valves you get a small discharge through the top assembly so they are not normally used on liquid or hazardous fluids.
